Li'l Brudder →
The picture he invented ”cracked me up” as well; does that make me evil?
BBC - Christmas squatter is jailed for six months →
Imagine this scenario - a man loses his job, and consequently his home, and finds himself on the streets at Christmas. To escape the freezing weather, he breaks into somebody’s home (admittedly not the best move) but isn’t tempted to steal anything - instead he just cooks some hot food and watches some television, cleaning up after himself. He does this for four days. When the...

Where is the mass public outrage over the cultural holocaust that the Tories are inflicting upon this country?!
I mean, it’s not like encouraging under-priviliged children to read is important or anything…
BBC - NHS job cuts could endanger lives, says... →
The Tories don’t care, they probably all have private insurance anyway.
Top Ten Albums of 2010 →
Another stellar year for music, full of innovation and fresh direction. My friends have been debating and discussing this for the past few weeks, and here are our intelligent conclusions on the best…

I don’t see him calling for an end to child abuse OR the spread of AIDS…

Is Margaret Thatcher Dead Yet? →
You know that any website that boasts about being “hated by the Daily Mail” is going to be fucking brilliant.
BBC - Christmas jobs misery for public sector... →
A nice big “merry Christmas” for thousands of workers from the Tories.
Fifty Fantasy & Science Fiction Works That... →
redguard:
By China Miéville
This is not a list of the “best” fantasy or SF. There are huge numbers of superb works not on the list. Those below are chosen not just because of their quality—which though mostly good, is variable—but because the politics they embed (deliberately or not) are of particular interest to socialists. Of course, other works—by the same or other writers—could have been...
Vince Cable
Is it OK to kinda like him? I mean, I know he retracted his comments about bringing the Government down from the inside, but at least he said it in the first place. Plus he’s just “declared war” on Ruper Murdoch…he may not have big ones, but at least he has more balls than the rest of the Lib Dems combined.
Pope blames secular society for clergy sexually... →
Uh, no. What has actually happened is that secular society has given victims of Catholic abuse the security and confidence to speak out about these horrendous crimes. I have no doubt that such abuse has been going on for centuries, undocumented and repressed by the Catholic authorities.
BBC - Protesters try to storm government HQ in... →
Pro-democracy demonstrators protest against President Alexander Lukashenko, who has rigged the recent Presidential elections to secure a fourth term in office.
I’ve arrived back in the Dales to an impossibly warm house, a Mexican feast, and Stringer Bell on the telly talking about the World Cup. Boss.

Further cracks in the Con-Dem coalition = early Christmas present.

RIP Don Van Vliet AKA Captain Beefheart, who died today at the age of 69. Hugely talented artist, fantastic record - if you’ve never heard any Beefheart before expect surreal blues. This is a…

The Daily Mail in ‘pretty decent article’ shocker!
BBC - Illegal music downloads are 'on the rise' →
Good. Time for the music industry to wake up, realise this is a battle they will never win, and to change their release methods. ’See no evil’ to donwloads and concentrate on gigs/t-shirts etc.; failing that, something like a music service that allowed infinite legal downloads of ANY and ALL music for a monthly fee could be an option.
It’s not fun preventing your drunken housemate from burning the house down when he demands to “flambee” frozen sausages (“NOOOO! It’s how I cook them!”), especially when you’re in a less-than-sober state yourself.
BBC - Tuition fees 'stoke Tory hostility towards... →
The Tories are revolting!
BBC - Make drugs legally available →
Yes please Santa!
But seriously, legalised drugs can be regulated, monitored, and more importantly for governments in such cash-strapped times, taxed. Think of it as alcohol, but nicer.
BBC - Pair guilty of Trafalgar Square homophobic... →
I can’t believe we still have to sort out shit like homophobia.

No more Harrods and smoked salmon for the woman who owns three houses and only earns £500 a week - cry me a river!
I ate a helluva lot of cheese before bed last night and had the following dreams - firstly, I had an epiphany that ‘Wallace & Gromit’ and ‘Four Tet & Caribou’ are one and the same; secondly, I got a job as a waiter in a snooker club; thirdly, I had to sacrifice the two-headed cow that lived in my front room. What the hell does Morrisons put in its Value cheddar?!
